Summer Morning Bliss

from £195.00

This image was taken on a stunning late summer morning.  The heavy fog was lifting and the sun starting to peep through and cast a golden warm light on the lush green foliage.  I had decided to head back to the car and find another location to take advantage of the changing conditions and returning on this path I looked back and the scene just presented itself.  The photo was simple.  I just had to be there.

Most of the images that I take are planned over a long period.  I usually scout a location a few times and then return when the conditions merit it and hopefully at some point that pays off with an image that I love.  This image wasn’t like that at all.

Good photography whether it is planned or unplanned like this shot is all about being there and giving yourself a chance.  When I got home this image shone out above the others and careful and subtle processing of the tonal qualities in the tree trunk was all it needed.

As of witting this it is my favourite image from 2019.  A simple shot in a inconspicuous location on a peaceful summer morning.  Why I love photography.

This print is in a limited edition run. Available as 1 of 5 edition in A2 and 1 of 20 edition in A3.

Printed on Fotospeed NST Bright White 315gsm paper. This paper goes really well with the soft feeling of the image.
